For aspiring newsletter writers

Ship your first 30 issues without staring at a blank draft.

Most newsletters die in the first month because the writer runs out of things to say. FirstIssue is a $39 launch pack that hands you the calendar, the welcome emails, the lead-magnet ideas, and the setup checklist, so issue #1 goes out instead of sitting in drafts.

What's inside the pack

Five components. Everything is copy-paste ready and written for someone who has not published a newsletter before.

1. 30-day content calendar

A day-by-day plan for your first month: which issue to write when, the angle for each one, and how the month builds from "who am I and why should you read this" to a repeatable weekly rhythm. Includes prompts for every issue so you never open a blank page.

2. Five welcome-email templates

The full sequence a new subscriber gets: the delivery email, the "who I am" email, the "what to expect" email, the "my best stuff" email, and the "reply to me" email. Each one is written out with blanks for your details, plus notes on timing and subject lines.

3. Ten lead-magnet ideas

Concrete giveaways that earn an email address: checklists, templates, short guides, curated lists. Each idea includes what it is, why it works for newsletters specifically, and how to build it in an afternoon.

4. Platform setup checklist

Step-by-step setup for Beehiiv, Substack, or Kit: domain and branding, signup form, welcome email, scheduling your first issue, and the settings people forget (double opt-in, footer compliance, analytics). Version-light and platform-agnostic where it matters.

5. First-100-subscribers playbook

The unglamorous list of what actually works at the start: which communities welcome self-introduction posts, how to ask friends without being weird about it, where to cross-promote, and why the first 100 subscribers take longer than the next 900. No growth hacks, just the real mechanics.

Who this is for

  • People who have wanted to start a newsletter and keep not starting
  • Writers with an audience elsewhere (X, a blog, a job) who want to own their list
  • Anyone who has published 0 to 3 issues and already feels stuck
  • People who want a plan handed to them instead of assembling one from 40 blog posts

Who this is NOT for

  • People expecting instant subscribers, nobody can promise you subscribers
  • Get-rich-quick seekers, newsletters are a slow asset, not a lottery ticket
  • Anyone wanting platform-specific hacks that expire, platforms change weekly, this is built to survive that
  • Writers already past 1,000 subscribers, you have outgrown this

Sample: one week from the 30-day calendar, redacted

This is week 1 of the calendar, shortened. The full version covers all 30 days with a writing prompt for every issue.

WEEK 1 - LAUNCH

Day 1: THE ORIGIN ISSUE
Topic: why this newsletter exists, who it is for, what
readers get every week.
[writing prompt: 3 sentences, your story]
[call to action template]

Day 3: THE TEACH ISSUE
Topic: the single most useful thing you know about
[your niche]. Teach it in full, hold nothing back.
[writing prompt: what did you wish someone told you]
[call to action template]

Day 5: THE CURATE ISSUE
Topic: 5 links or ideas from your week, with your
one-line take on each. Easy to write, easy to read.
[writing prompt: keep a running list all week]
[call to action template]

Day 7: THE ASK ISSUE
Topic: ask readers one question and promise to publish
the answers. This is how you start conversations.
[writing prompt: pick the question people always ask you]
[call to action template]

The pack's version adds all 30 days, the prompt for each issue, and the subject-line bank. The full calendar, $39.

FAQ

How does delivery work?

You email us your order, we send a payment link, and once payment clears the pack is emailed to you as a zip of documents within 24 hours. A human does the fulfillment, so if you order at 2am, expect it by the next evening.

What's the refund policy?

7 days from delivery. If the pack doesn't help you get started, reply to the delivery email and say so, and we refund the $39. No forms, no exit interview.

Will this guarantee subscribers or income?

No. Nobody can guarantee subscribers or income from a newsletter, and anyone who promises that is selling you something. What the pack gives you is the plan and the starting materials, which is where most newsletters stall. Your results depend on your writing, your niche, and your consistency.

Which platform does the checklist cover?

Beehiiv, Substack, and Kit. The checklist walks through setup on each and is deliberately generic where platforms change fast, so it does not rot when a platform redesigns something.

I'm not a writer. Will this work for me?

The pack is written for beginners, and the templates lower the bar on purpose. But you do need something to say: a niche, a job, a hobby, an obsession. If you have no topic at all, the pack cannot pick one for you.
